Each quarter, you may add and drop classes with no restrictions until the end of the second week of the quarter (the Unrestricted Drop period). After that, you may drop one class between the 3rd week and the last date of instruction for the quarter (the Late Course Drop period) using MyUW. The hold is placed on the student record when five (5) or more academic-year quarters and 105 or more credits have been completed. Transfer students who are admitted to the University with 105 or more credits are expected to declare a major before their second quarter at the UW, or obtain an extension from an adviser. Husky Coronavirus Testing has been running since autumn quarter 2020 and will continue to provide free, fast testing for current UW students, faculty and staff throughout the summer and during the 2021-22 academic year.
